Delete Account

You can delete your BasicCal account at any time. Here is how, and what happens to your data.

If you still have the app installed

1. Open BasicCal and go to the Settings tab.
2. Tap "Account".
3. Tap "Delete Account".
4. Confirm the deletion. Your account and all associated data will be removed immediately.

This removes your profile, subscription status, and any server-side data. Your local food log on the device is not deleted by this action, but it will no longer be linked to any account.

If you no longer have the app installed

If you have deleted the app but want to ensure your account data is removed from our systems, email support@basiccal.com from the email address associated with your BasicCal account. Include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line. We will verify your identity and delete your account within 7 business days.

What is deleted

• Your profile (display name, email address, birth year).
• Your subscription status and purchase records on our servers.
• Any authentication tokens or session data.

What is retained and for how long

• Apple purchase records: Apple retains records of your transactions for their own legal and accounting purposes. We do not control this and cannot delete it.
• Backups: Our database provider keeps encrypted backups for operational recovery. Your account data may exist in these backups for up to 90 days after deletion, after which it is permanently purged.
• Local food log: If you still have the app installed, your food log remains in the local SQLite database on your phone until you delete the app or clear its data. We never had access to this data and cannot delete it remotely.

Cancelling subscriptions

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first through your Apple ID settings to avoid further charges. See the Support page for instructions.
